my inquiry is not on a computer that i built but maybe i could get
some advice. i have a temp monitor that usually reads as follows:
cpu 41, sys 44, gpu 61, gpu2 64. the processor is an AMD 3800. are
these temp ranges normal? where could i find the upper limits?

Those temps are fine. You don't have to worry unless the CPU temp
gets to ~60C.

The temps are fine. Did you look on the AMD website for the
acceptable processor temps?

There is a simple calculation for "normal" for any AMD system temp, a
everyone has different ambient air temps work off +10 deg C for th
cpu and +5-8 deg C for the board, these have been proven hundreds o
times.

With the board that warm I would be increasing the box fan CFM ratin
to lower the temps, dropping one will drop them all to a certai
degree

Adding a blowhole will drop temps 5 - 10 deg C in a badly cooled case
