Adopting and developing an existing popular and efficient PIM

I am interested in 'rescuing' a piece of 'Personal Information Manager'
software that is due to cease working at the end of this year. It has a
popular following, but unfortunately has a built-in death sentence to its
'ToDo' function. Existing users extol the virtues of this software, but
no-one seems able to prevent its demise. It has been utilised in my service
(part of the UK National Health Service) to aid evaluation of patient care.
Can any one help? It would seem to be ideal for development as the original
owners seem to have abandoned it.

This will illustrate the popularity of the software.

What are you expecting anyone here to do?

Probably nothing. This looks like one of those suggestions
to microsoft that seem to be routed to who knows where.

Hey Marsh - spot on! I was trying to get a response from microsoft, this was
the result.
Do try the link to the Tek-tips forum if interested, there is some interest
in trying to rescue the software independently, all contributions to the
debate gratefully accepted!

Well, I can not speak for Microsoft, but I expect they
wouldn't touch it with a ten foot pole, especially since
they already have Outlook in Office.
