I just downloaded an adobe acrobat file. How can I type on the form I
downloaded?

Print it out and put it in a typewriter! Adobe Acrobat documents are for
display purposes only and are not meant to be modified.

Print it out, stick it in a typewriter and fill out the form or use a pencil
to fill out the form.
If the form is set up with form fields that can be filled in, you can fill
in the forms within Reader. Then you print it out and mail it back.

You can modify a pdf with a later version of Acrobat Professional if there
isn't security on it.

You can only "change" (ie: type on) the Acrobat form (PDF) using the full
Acrobat software. With the free Acrobat Reader, you can only see/print it!

If you are using the Adobe Reader {free}, you can only type to fill in the
form if the author designed the form with that feature.

Else, you need to full Acrobat {expensive} to fill in the form or save it as
a Word document or you need a third party application from such as Scansoft
{less expensive} to convert the form to a Word document or make it so you
can fill in the information.

Sometimes a copy and paste to Word or other word processor will work, but
not often.

If it wasn't configured as a form you can't. You would need to get a pdf
editing program to do that.

Not true. Some are made to be modified, some aren't. That's decided by
the creator of the document.

Great lookout Wesley. I was looking for a simple PDF editor for a long time
but haven't had any luck. Went to your link on Foxit and it lead me to Foxit
PDF Editor. I believe that is also what the OP wants since he/she wants to
change some stuff on the PDF document itself. Here is the link to it:

Haven't tried it out yet but will do so later on. Cheers!
