My Uncle noted that he had two Admins on his system. He
changed one of th users to limited. The next time he
started his system, the ONLY user account was limited.

I have tried logging in as admin using the recommended
approaches from this board. No Luck! Is there a file
that I can change the current user into the admin again?
I thought it would be in a configuration file, but have
not been able to find an appropriate file.

Please give me guidance.

Thanks,
James

The person installing windows for the first time or set up the computer
should be the admin account
you can not delete the last admin account

The orginal account is the account that was the admin and
it was limited. How can I change it back to an admin
account? There are NO other accounts on the box.

It is impossible to not have an admin account.
Try using a safe mode boot and logging in as
Administrator (or, if this account was renamed
use whatever it was renamed to).
Then you will be able to adjust levels of other
accounts. Only an admin can change the account
types of other accounts. This info is in a protected
area of the registry, and you will not be able to touch
it directly except if you have admin priv and knowledge.
