You can't. Unlike Win9x/ME, Windows NT-based operating systems like XP
have user accounts. You should create a user account just for yourself
and leave the built-in Administrator account alone. This isn't
something for you to worry about.

Before you disable the local Administrator account, make sure that there
is at least one other local or network user who can gain access to the
computer with administrator permissions. Otherwise, you will not be able
to reverse this action in the future.

Install an operating system with no security capabilities, such as Win98.

If he managed to really disable the administrator account, you have to
reinstall the operating system. Otherwise, you could attempt to run
in safe mode to access the built-in account to re-enable it through
the control panel.

If you instead mean there's a password on the account, then you need
to reset the password. This might not be possible, but you can
attempt to do so on your limited account or through safe mode.

NO there is no administrator profile, when i hit f8 it states needs to be an
administrator. How do you reinstal the operating system--i came with the
computer, I will try f8 again to see if it works

Simply log in using the built-in Administrator account (which
cannot be deleted) and modify the desired account(s) and use Start > Run
"control userpasswords2" to modify the desired account(s). By
design, the only way to log into the Administrator account of WinXP Home
is to reboot into Safe Mode. For WinXP Pro, pressing CTRL+ALT+DEL twice
at the Welcome Screen will produce the standard login dialog box.

Failing that, Linux-based password cracking utilities abound on the
Internet, freely available to anyone who can use Google.

After recovering, make sure that you place a strong password on the
built-in Administrator account and reduce your son's account to a
Limited Account so he won't be able to do this again.
