When I try to remove a program I recieve this...Error-you
must be administrator to perform this action. I am logged
on as the administrator. i tried creating a new account
with addministrator right but I still recieve same
message. can anyone help me?

Hi Billie,

There may be some additional settings for the specific application that are
not set for the correct permissions.

Does this happen with any application or just some/most?

Does the application in question log setup/install/uninstall progress in a
log that we can look at? For example, when you install an update via
Windows Update, it creates a log called KB12345.log in the Windows folder.
<the number will vary and correspond to the hotfix KB article number>. If
we could look at such a log for the app in question, it would provide clues
as to which permission we need to modify.

Have you attempted to uninstall the app using the default Administrator
account (user name = Administrator)?

Have you tried to uninstall the application in Safe Mode?

Hi Billie,

The application you are having difficulty may or may not create a setup
log. Each application is different.

Since you do not see the symptom with all applications, your problem with
this one application is not a Windows problem, but one specific to the
application in question. What could be causing this? The application
setup routine did not properly register itself during install, or was later
'broken" by some other process. Regarding where to look for the
application's setup log, that is anyone's guess.

Recommendation:

I recommend you reinstall the application in question. If the reinstall is
successful, it should properly register itself. Usually this allows you to
use Add/Remove in Control panel to then uninstall the application in
question.

Let me know how it goes.
