I don't know how it happened but my all desktop applications lost. But
I noticed all these applications are visible in Safe Mode's
Administrator. When I go back to Normal mode it was not there. How can
I have applications visible in Safe Mode in Normal Mode?

Try creating a new user account in safe mode, restart pc,open xp in new.If
all is ok,the old account is corrupted, delete it.

Log on as Administrator in Safe Mode, right click one of
the "lost" shortcuts and report where exactly it resides. You
can see the "Location" under the "General" tab.

You need to provide more info, but here is a guess. Are you using XP Home?
If so know that the built in Administrator account will be hidden when
another account with admin privileges is created. After that in XP Home the
only way to login to the built in Administrator account is in Safe Mode.

Had you been operating with the Administrator account and just recently
created another admin level account?

If this is the case you can copy the data and settings from the
Administrator account to the new account. See this link.

In general you should not use the built in Administrator account for day to
day activities. If something corrupts it, and there are no other accounts,
then you can't login to Windows XP. Put a strong password on it and set it
aside, using another account for normal activities.
