"Administrator" required

I'm trying to update an external DVD with Lightscribe. More specifically I'm
trying to update the Lightscribe software for the device. I'm able to get the
update to my desktop but when I run it it tells me that only the
"Administrator" can install the update.

Of course when I installed XP Home, I created an account with my own name
and gave it all the administrator privledges, and that "hid" the
Administrator account. Try as I might, I can't figure a way to change back so
that this install program recognizes that the "Administrator" is installing
the update.

Can anyone help with this?

One of two ways, Right Click the Executable from Explorer, when the
details box opens click Properties & click the Unblock Button.

-or-

Create a Shortcut to the Executable. Then Right Click the shortcut, take
Properties, click Advanced. Check/Tic the option box "Run with Different
Credentials". Then run it as Administrator ( assume empty/null password).

Thanks for the attempt but neither of these solutions helped. There has to be
a way to do this. I sure would appreciate any help that can be offered..

Contact the external drive mftr.'s tech support. This may be a known
issue and they may have a workaround or patch.

Thanks for the suggestion. I did just that and the OEM agreed to send me a
new drive. I was flaberghasted.

My thanks to all that responded and offered suggestions for this.
