At this time I'm still running XP Pro.
I do not use any passwords to run XP.
When I boot up it opens XP.

Can this also be done with Vista? or do you have to have a password to get
in?

You do not HAVE to have a password, but some things will not work if you
don't. You can assign a password and still have it boot automatically, so
although you have a password you do not need it on startup.

Hi,

Same as in XP, certain functions require that there be one.

Correct, you can disable the requirement through the use of 'control
userpasswords2', same as in XP.

password for Vista?

Same kinds of things that don't work if you do not have a password for XP.
Remote Desktop, for example, requires that users who log in remotely
have a password set.
