you can hit 2* control-alt-delete at the login screen for the admin logon to
appear... or, i think easier, you can download MS Powertoys/TWeakUi for xp,
in this util you can specify which accounts you want to appear on the logon
screen

At the welcome screen hit Ctrl+Atl+Delete Key combo twice. You will get the Win2000 style logon
window, type "Administrator" in the user name field and the password for the Admin account in the
password field.

| Your talking about at the bottom of the Start menu where you have a Log Off

Greetings --

Once any additional user accounts have been created, the
Administrator account will no longer be displayed on the Welcome
Screen. This is a default security feature. By design, the only way
to log into the Administrator account of WinXP Home is to reboot into
Safe Mode. For WinXP Pro, pressing CTRL+ALT+DEL twice at the Welcome
Screen will produce the standard login dialog box.

It galls me that posters like Greg can commandeer so much of the OE screen
when well-meaning respondents answer the deviously-posted question.
Ken Collins, Tom, Keith and Bob have questions of no less improtance, yet
Greg hogs the spotlight, pushing down the other posts with each well-meaning
response. It takes self-control not to pitch in and help on an issue where
one has a contribution, but you guys are helping a sociopath, in my opinion.

When the only profile I had on my system was Administrator, the
Administrator showed up as a user and I would get prompted for the
administrator's password. I then created another profile for myself (with
administrator rights). Now when I boot up, the Administrator doesn't show up
as a user. How can I get the prompt to show up so I can log o as
administrator

I tried it but I still don't get Adminstrator prompt, only my own. Here are
the steps I followed:
Start|Log Off|(shift)Log Off, I also tried
Start|(shift) Log Off|(shift) Log Off and
Start|(shift) Log Off|(shift)Switch User

Why did you refer to Greg as a sociopath in your original rant, entitled
"Clock Cheats?"

Is that clear enough for you now, or have the effects of the drugs worn off?

Alan

Technically, people who think it's ok to cheat ARE sociopaths. Maybe they
aren't flirting with jail time, but it certainly qualifies as antisocial
behavior a la Enron, EULA violators, etc.
