What makes you think that it was not there? Assuming that
the new user's name is Jack, do this to find out for sure:
- Click Start / Run / cmd {OK}
- Type this commands:
net user {Enter}
net user Jack {Enter}

Can you see Jack's account?

If there had been no other accounts except the Administrator account, when a
new account with admin privileges is created the Administrator account is
hidden. To access it in XP Home boot into safe mode. It will appear on the
welcome screen. For XP Pro at the welcome screen do ctrl-alt-del twice to
get the classic logon box, they Administrator as the user name, and the
password.

It is not good practice to use the Administrator account for day to day
activities. Put a strong password on it and set it aside, to be used only
if something damages the normal working account. Create at least one admin
level account to use for normal activities and then whatever number of
limited user accounts you want.

You can copy the data and settings from the Administrator account to another
admin level account. Create that account, log into it at least once, then
follow the steps here.
