I have cause to suspect that my son has been accessing
innapropriate materials on the net, how, as an
administrator can I gain access to his user account and
find out what sites etc he has been visiting...

Sign on as the Administrator and check out the Temporary
Internet Files folder under his profile.
(Local Settings - Temporary Internet Files)
Sort by Size and start to open some of the images he has
downloaded.

If he has been surf to inappropriate site then you should
see some images that you don't want to be seeing if you
get my drift.

Note that some sites will have pages with images you
don't want him to be seeing and he may have been sent
there unintentionally.

However if you see dozen from one site then the odds are
he has intentionally gone there.

There are a couple of ways I think you can approach this.

1. If he is denying doing this, use a tool called spector
to get screen shoots of what he is looking at. or a
keylogger to see what URLs he is going to. These types of
programs log this date and time. Pretty hard for him to
deny doing it... downside he might feel that you have
invaded his privacy and cause a rift between you...

2. Use a parental control tool to block access to these
sites. Like netnanny or Norton internet security (NIS)
