Administrator account password

Hi,
I am a Ph.D. student, working in a computational lab. Our
system administrator has left and unfortunately i could
not get the administrator account password of the pc
which has windows xp on which i am currently working. I
am unable to load any softwares, as loading these
requires an administrative privilage.My research has come
to a halt because of this. I also donot have the Windows
XP installation CD or disk.

If that doesn't work out, you might try to reset the local Administrator
password with one of the methods mentioned here:
