Administrator Account Locked out

Windows 2000 Professional - On login to the Administrator
account, prompted that account is locked out. [Stand alone
system, managing a laboratory instrument]

View properties of the account, Account is Locked out box
checked. Remove the check, Access Denied.

Catch 22 -- can't login as Administrator to reset. No
other accounts with adminstrator priveleges.

Is there any way to reset the account?

"The" administrator account can not be locked out to interactive keyboard
logon. Possibly it is a regular account renamed administrator as a decoy
account. Checking membership of the local administrator group may help. ---
