I have been using Outlook 2002 on my XP computer for
almost a year now. I never set up any user accounts when
the computer was initially set-up, so the 'default'
Administrator account is where all of 'My Documents' and
my Outlook Inbox, Contacts, Calendar, etc. were
associated. Recently, I set up a user account on the
computer and now I can access my original Outlook .pst
file. With the other Office Programs, I've figured out
where those files are and have worked around the
problem. Outlook remains messed up. I don't want to
have to recreate my contacts and it is frustrating not
being able to access all of my old e-mail InBox and Sent
Files. Can anyone offer help?

Thanks,
Angela

Define "messed up." With that description, how do you expect anyone to
offer detailed help to solve your problem?

Close Outlook. Move the .PST file to a location accessible by your user
account. Restart Outlook. It will complain it can't find your .PST file --
point it in the right direction.

Jocelyn,

Your suggestion worked. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK
YOU. I have a host of other issues I still have to work
out because of user rights (i.e. Favorites, cookies, My
Documents...) but I think I'm back on the right track.

Thanks again,
Angela

Milly,

I apologize for not being more specific. This is the
very first time I have used this discussion board and I
wasn't trying to be non-specific on purpose. Luckily,
Jocelyn's post enabled me to fix my problem. Thank you
for the time you graciously spend giving less experienced
users advice and tips.
