I got a computer from many that were being replaced by new ones, this
one works pretty good but I cannot install or change anything because
it doesn't have administrative privilege. And I don't have a windows
bkp. is a Win 2000 SP3 Built on NT. Is there anything I can do to
become an administrator? Thank you

You should post to a win2000 newsgroup. This is the XP newsgroup. Here
is a list of all MS public newsgroups: http://aumha.org/nntp.htm

Your best bet with a used computer is to do a format and clean install
of the operating system. You don't want to inherit the problems.

Check with the previous owner. You will with a little intelligence be able
to get into it, however I don't think anyone here will contribute to you
breaking into what might be someone else's computer.

Download an ISO from the following site:

http://home.eunet.no/~pnordahl/ntpasswd/

Burn that ISO to a CD. You will need an application capable of burning ISO
images. Windows XP does not have such a feature, but you can download the
Windows 2003 Resource Kit and use cdburn.exe to do it.

http://tinyurl.com/6csco

Here is what the command line for cdburn.exe will look like:

cdburn.exe d: C:\temp\cd041205.iso -speed max -imagehaspostgap

Requesting burn at maximum speed
Not adding 150 sector postgap (must be part of image)
Number of blocks in ISO image is 61c
Finished Writing
Synchronizing Cache: burn successful!

Boot on that CD and accept the default options presented during bootup. It
will blank out the password for your Administrator account. After blanking
your Administrator password, you can logon as Administrator and change it to
whatever you like.
This tool works on 2000, XP, domain, stand-alone, whatever.
