Administration password

When I enter the administrative password, it says that it is incorrect
and suggests looking at the hint. I double-checked the caps-lock,
tried again, and it still says that it is incorrect. I can still get
into Windows (Home) as a regular user because I don't use a password
to login. So, if the administration password can not be entered what
are my options?

Did you just try a blank? Unless you changed it, the default password for
the built-in Administrator account in Home (which you can only access in
Safe Mode in Home) is a blank.

If you changed the built-in Administrator password and have forgotten it,
then restart the computer in Safe Mode by repeatedly tapping the F8 key as
the computer is starting up. Use your arrow key to choose Safe Mode (the
mouse won't work here). Then log into any account that has administrative
privileges (not a Limited account).

Once logged in, do Start>Run>control userpasswords2 [enter]

You'll see the button where you can change the Administrator account
password.

If that doesn't work for you, you can change the Administrator password to a
blank with NTpasswd:

http://home.eunet.no/~pnordahl/ntpasswd/

Then log in (again, you must do this in Safe Mode in XP Home) and change it
to something you will remember.

Thanks for all the help. Actually, the way Windows handles this is a
bit confusing. I click change users and I see "Administrator" then
attempt to log in and it refuses the password (or refuses if I leave
the password field blank). But, if I log into Safe Mode, I can (and
did) change the Administrator's password. But I have yet to login as
administrator because my account has administrator privileges and I
have no idea how to login as administrator. Probably that's not
good--I've got some reading to do.

The only way you can log in as Administrator in XP Home is in Safe Mode,
just the way you did. Normally, there is no reason to ever log in as
Administrator if you have another account with administrative privileges
(which you should).
