admin password blocked

my husband was left in the room when we were loading xp to our second computer. he put in a password, and cannot remember it!!!!!!!!!Please help, how do we get past this, we cannot access our computer. Can we erase everything and reload? please help, were screaming here... thanks, - the screamer

Have you tried starting in Safe Mode? If you didn't put

a password on the "real" Admin. acct then you can start
in safe mode and delete the password on your acct.
 
you can download some programs which will crack the password for you. The only one i know of off the top of my head that i think might do this is something called cain & abel. Do a search for it and you should be able to find it

but if there isnt anything on the computer you want to save, you can just go ahead and reinstall xp again.

I forgot to tell you that there is also a pw hacker but

unless your an advanced user, it would prob be easier to
just re-install. Depends on what important things u have
saved already.
