Adjusting X-axis scale on chart

I created a simple line chart in PP2000 and am having
trouble with the X-axis scale.

The x-axis measures time over a 24 hour period but the
readings are not uniformly spaced. I have readings at 30
min, 1 hr, 90 min, 2 hr, 4, 6, 8, 12, 18 and 24 hrs.

The chart, however, spaces these time points uniformly so
that the space between the 30 & 60 minutes points is the
same as the space between the 18 & 24 hour points.

How can I scale this so they appear at the proper
intervals? I tried changing the values from General to
Numbers and to Times but it doesn't seem to help the
spacing intervals.

You'll have to have the x axis go from
0 to 24 hours at a 30 min interval.
Then enter your values at the appropriate points.

0:0
0:30 12.3
1:00 22.4
1:30 (aka 90 mins) 33.2
2:00 75.2
2:30
3:00
4:00 64.2
etc
etc

Thanks, but this method leaves gaps in my line where the
blank values are. Is there a way to connect the points
across these empty values?

The only way I ever sorted that problem was to work out the values....very tedious!

If anyone else has a solution please post it here

Make the blank value a zero, then drag the point into place on the graph.
Click to select only that data point and remove the marker itself.

Or maybe use a scatter chart if the timeseries doesn't need to be in scale.

Activate the chart, then choose Tools, Options.
In the Graph Options dialog box, click the Chart tab.
"Empty cells plotted as" will probably be "Not plotted" by default
Choose Interpolated instead.

That may turn Smooted Line in the series formatting options on by default. You
can turn it off if you like straight lines.

Dang. I *knew* there was a setting for that, but I didn't have time to look
for it!
