Where do I go to set the task priorities for Outlook so that when I am
multitasking my posterior off that reading and processing eMail and
contacts takes priority over...say...a large file transfer that is
happening at the same time?

Ah, you can do that in the Task Manager (CTRL+ALT+DEL | Task Manager) but
be VERY careful with those settings. They aren't really intended to be
user-configurable and it is possible to mess with the priorities such that
it causes your machine to do bad things.

I'd be more inclined to find a more efficient way to do the file transfer.
Reading/replying to e-mail shouldn't be avery processor intensive so you're
probably just seeing residual slowness from the file transfer.
Prioritizing outlook.exe isn't likely to gain you a lot.
