I imported the adress book from OLExp and I get First Name Last Name. I
cannot reverse the order no matter what I do.

You might want to post relevant information.
You imported what from where?
You want to sort what, where?
We cannot read minds.

Imported Address Book from OLExp6 to Outlook2002
The Outlook2002 Address Book has all the names fixed in the Firt Last name
order and it cannot be re-ordered to Last First name order. I want all
names in the Address Book to be listed with the Last name appearing before
the First name.

Also, I cannot add a contact to the address book in Outlook2002.

Also, Russ, there's no need for sarcasm. If you can answer the question,
much obliged; but, don't come back at me with an attitude.

Go to Tools > E-mail accounts > View or change existing directories or
address books > Outlook Address Book > Change. > Set your sort order there

Outlook does not use an address book. Contacts reside in the Contacts
folder. All entries are made there. The Address Book is simply a view of
your Contacts Folder.

Thanks for the reply.
I did as you said but the names in the Address Books are still ordered
"first last" name even though "last, first" order was checked.
The entries in the Contacts folder are in the correct name order (last,
first).

When I want to select addresees for an email message I use the Address Book
and finding the correct people is difficult with the first last name order.

There is no Last, First order to select. 2 possibilities:
1. Are your File As... fields in Last First order?
2. Have you restarted Outlook?

OK, I repeated your procedure:
Go to Tools > E-mail accounts > View or change existing directories
or address books > Outlook Address Book > Change. > Set your sort
order there
and then I shutdown and restarted Outlook.

It's fine now; much obliged!
