Hoock the Spook

When I right click on the CONTACTS icon and select PROPERTIES and then the
menu tab "OUTLOOK ADDRESS BOOK", the item that says:
"Show this folder as an email address book" is greyed out and I cannot tick
the box.
I have been through the TOOLS/EMAIL ACCOUNTS procedure but cannot seem to
get an address book going.
As I only installed OUTLOOK a few days ago, I suspect that when I went
through the initial configuration process, something has been missed there.
I am on CABLE and previously used Outlook Express.
Thanks all

Thanks for help but when I get to step 3 the following occurs:

After 3 instead of getting "Select destination folder" I get a file or box
headed "Import a file"---all the options are greyed out plus the next
button----there is provision to type in something in the white box headed
"File to Import" and there is a browse button along side of it??????????

Not sure what you're reading, but the article I posted has no such step.
Provide clearer information. Time to include some meaningful information
like your Outlook version and information store.

Sorry for confusion..... think I have isolated it down to the fact that I
don't have a Personal Address Book (.pst)
I have gone through the HELP and created one called DICK and everything
worked fine. I have checked in the Data File Locations and it is definately
there along with the standard OUTLOOK (pst) file. Problem is that I cannot
seem to view this DICK folder. Under VIEW x ALL FOLDERS it is not shown. If
I could somehow get it onto the OUTLOOK SHORTCUT BAR I know how to drop/drag
the contacts from the present contacts folder to the new one. But would this
help? Using Outlook 2002 (10.2627.2625) Thanks for assistance

This does not make sense. Personal Address Book and a PST file are not the
same. You should not use the former--it was replaced by the Outlook Address
Book. You cannot open Outlook without the latter, so you must have had a PST
file all along or else you could not open Outlook or see Contacts. So are
you saying you have now created a second PST file? You would not need that.
I cannot post instructions that are any clearer than the KB article. State
the steps you used and what didn't work for you.
