I have six networked computers each running Office2000 and Outlook. I have
a large number of e-mail addresses in CSV format that I want to import into
one of the address books. However, when I open any of the address books I
find that the import/export menus under the file menu are always greyed out
and are inactive.
I've gone into the machines as network administrator, stand-alone
administrator and any other combination that I can think of but I cannot get
the import facility to come live (as opposed to the Outlook->File->Import
that is active.
Anyone know why or how I can get them working?

Alan,
The Address Book Import/Export functions ONLY work if you are you is it's
own file system for storing contacts. Under Tools>Options there are Data
Sharing options to either use Outlook or not. If you choose to use Outlook,
you must use Outlook to Import/Export. On the Outlook menu, go to
File>Import/Export>choose "Import from another program or file">choose Comma
Seperated Values (Windows, unlees you created while in DOS mode)>choose your
"Options" and select File to import.

Hope this works. Please post back either way.
Good Luck

Outlook uses the Contacts folder. Import them there.
