Stress

Hi,
I've never encountered this problem before and apparantly
neither has anyone on the net, as I can't find it with a
typical google search.

Basically, my problem is sometimes the address Bar in IE6,
SP1 wont go to the address I type in. For example, if I
type www.google.ca and hit enter, nothing happens, no
click noise, no nothing. The same goes if I type in the
address and hit Go.

Two things to note are, that this does not happen always,
and when it does it coincides with my Windows explorer to
freeze when I click on the C drive. Basically everything
freezes and I need to restart.

Also, I have installed MY ISPs software, (Rogers) which
has some self healing tools etc... This install also
replaced the revolving IE logo in the top right of the IE
page with some red flag thing. The reason I mention this
is that when I have the toolbar problem, this redflag
shows that's its constantly working even when a page is
fully loaded.

Lastly, I have the google bar installed as well.

Thanks for any help.
Feel free to email me as well.

Stress.

1. Check if a program running in the background is interfering with Internet
Explorer. Temporarily disable all Norton programs, including anti-virus, win
doctor, recycle bin protect, and clean sweep. Disable any firewall or
ad-blocker.

2. Perform a repair of Internet Explorer. From Control Panel select
Add/Remove Programs. Scroll down to Microsoft Internet Explorer and
highlight it. Click on the Add/Remove button. When the IE Tools menu comes
up, select Repair. Click OK.

3. If repairing does not work, uninstall and reinstall IE. At the same IE
Tools menu, select "Restore the previous Windows configuration". Then
reinstall Internet Explore.

You can also access the IE Toolbar by clicking Start > Run and type

rundll32 setupwbv.dll,IE6Maintenance

I'm having a similar problem. Some pages load right up.
Others just sit there. Bottom left corner of window
say "error on page" and that's all I get. Tried to do
the repair below but it wasn't listed as "microsoft
internet explorer" -- it was Internet Explorer Q824145 (I
think). I didn't get an IE Toolbar. I chose it and said
remove, it required a reboot, and then it was still
there, same problem. I tried running "rundll32
setupwbv.dll,IE6Maintenance" but it said "application not
found" for the 'setupwbv.dll'. I couldn't even
select "post reply" on this thread. I had to go to
another computer as I got nothing but the little 'error
on page' message at the bottom. Any thoughts?
