Address Bar Searches

As of two weeks ago I am unable to use my address bar for
searches. I have tried changing "tools" "Internet
options" "Advanced" to get it to do searches in the
address bar, but it won't accept the cahnge. This is
driving me crazy.

Any suggestions, please help!
 
Are you making the change and then clicking "Apply" before you click OK?
Another thing to try is the Restore Defaults button and again click apply.

I've got a similar problem, and it seems to have started *after* installing
MS updates. I started a thread on 07/27, but so far I haven't received any
responses. The thread is titled; IE6, MSN Homepage & Search the Web. I
also searched the MSKB without any positive results. Hopefully someone will
respond to one of our querries.

When you try to use the search feature, does it come
up "Forbidden-You were denied access because-Acess denied
by access control list? I'm having the same problem. I
didn't tie in the reference to installing the updates
until you mentioned it but I'm guessing that's when it
happened to me too. I posted a couple days ago but haven't
found an answer yet either. Hopefully someone will come to
our rescue. I did notice another thing with my computer-I
was missing the security and advanced tag on my internet
tools page. I was able to go into the registry and restore
those however.

In what way are you unable to use the address bar? Can you type in it?
 
You might have spyware or hijacker. The tend to mess with search function.
Get spyware scanner, for example Ad-Aware.
