Address bar does not show URL of hyperlink

When I open a hyperlink by right-clicking the mouse to open in a NEW window,
the address bar does NOT show the URL of the new site. In fact, the address
bar is "locked" so that I can't type anything in the address bar.

This doesn't happen if I just left-click on the hyperlink. When the link is
opened in the SAME window, the new URL is shown in the address bar.

This only started happening recently. Before, I was able to open the link
in a new window and see the new URL in the address bar. Is this just a
settings problem?
