address bar and links button icons

Hello,
I was wondering why instead seeing small icons
corresponding to viewed web page or web page shortcut I
see only generic blue IE icon in my address bar or in
Links toolbar (shortcut buttons)?

Favicons are only temporary until cleared from your cache.
To make them permanent:
