Hello all! I recently purchased a Dell Inspiron 1100
Notebook running XP Home. What I'm trying to do is plug
in an older CRT monitor into the 15 pin connector
(located on the back of the computer)in order to
simultaneously show what is on my screen as well as the
older monitor. I tried just turning off the system,
plugging in the older monitor then turning it back on but
no luck. The screen on the older monitor just reads "no
signal". Any ideas??? Thanks a million!

Is there an option in the BIOS to allow dual monitors?

Check Display Properties in Control Panel.

Hi:

You may also try Dell Community and/or technical support, as they have more
experiences on Dell's system. I found Dell's community is another good
source for Dell-specific problems and questions.

You can go to: http://support.dell.com and start from there.

Good luck

Try hitting the fn key at the same time as the F8 key. At least that's the
way it is on my I8000. Look on the F keys for a hint.
