Adding Windows

We have two home computers running Windows 98 and Windows home edition. Neither came with PowerPoint, so I bought Microsoft Office Profession version 7.0 so we could get PowerPoint. Can we just boot it in? We have the memory available, but will it do anything to the existing Windows software already installed? I'm assuming the news software will just be there and available when we want to get to it.
Thanks

You seem to be confusing apples and oranges; installing Office should have
no effect on Windows at all. You've bought a rather old version of Office
(Office for Windows 95), but it should run fine under both Windows 98 and
Window XP (which I assume is what you mean by "home edition").
