Adding up a column of minutes & seconds

What formula/how do I add up a column containing 1:10
minutes and seconds. Do I do an =sum and format for
time???? Can you help, please.
 
I take it that you have multiple time values in that column...

=SUM(A1:A10)

Custom format the formula cell as [m]:ss
