Adding templates

How do I get a downlaoded template or powerpoint package to show up in the
design template area without having to navigate through all my folders. What
I exactly mean is that when I download a powerpoint theme template and save
it to my desktop. I then unzip the files and I want to put them where when I
start powerpoint and on the right side of the screen where the "New
Presentation" dialog area is, from the "New" catergory, I choose "From Design
Template" and it will open up the files I just downloaded. I know that when
I download templates from Microsoft, they go directly into this area. I have
Powerpoint 2002
 
The easiest way might be to double-click on the template on your Desktop,
click "File", "Save as", change the "Save as type" dropdown to "Presentation
Design Template (.pot). It will automatically direct you to the correct
folder. Give it a name, close out of PowerPoint, then delete the file on
your Desktop. Of course, once you get used to the actual folder location,
this might not be necessary, but if you forget...
