Adding System Administrator account after setup?

I purchased an ex-display notebook computer which had already been set-up by
the shop.

There is no hidden administrator account on this machine and I would like to
set one up since it is not my computer (it's my wife's) and I provide
technical support. ;-)

Is there any way of retrospectively adding a system admin account to Windows
XP SR2?

Cheers.

The built-in Adminstrator account is there; it *cannot* be deleted.
(although it can be renamed)

By design, the only way to log into the Administrator account of WinXP
Home is to reboot into Safe Mode. For WinXP Pro, pressing CTRL+ALT+DEL
twice at the Welcome Screen will produce the standard login dialog box.

The administrator account will be created automatically once logging in
as Administrator. "How to login as Administrator in Windows XP?"

Hi Bobby,

To view the hidden Administrator account, go to Start - Run and type the
following command then press enter.

control userpasswords2

This will show all the user account on the system including the default
hidden Administrator account.

The default admin account cannot be deleted. This is the account used to
administer the system, and should not be used for day to day use.

You can add additional accounts from this window, or from Control
Panel - User Accounts.
If the Administrator account is the only available account, it will
become hidden upon the creation of another account. In this case any
data in the hidden account will have to be moved to the newly created
account.
You may need to use Safe Mode, log on as Administrator account and 'Take
Ownership' of the files.
