adding separator line when replying

I have noticed recently that when people reply to my
emails, a separator line is included in thier reply
showing where their message ends and where mine begins.
This makes viewing the reply easier - especially if it is
a long email thread. I am using Outlook 2002 and can not
seem to find where to set this preference.

what is the message format? what email editor do you use?

plain text uses ----original message----- as the format but html uses a full
line.
 
it is currently set at HTML. I currently have options to
use MS Word to edit email messages or read rich-text -
which neither is checked off. is this a new feature for
Outlook 2003?

the separator line is handled slightly differently with word - but you'll
only see it on html messages, not plain text.

Enable word as the editor and see how it works...
