adding new software - any special tasks needed?

if user wants to install new software to XPE - does this need any extra or
does XPE act just like normal XP? all hardware etc. remains untouched.
Can user install for example new version of DirectX to XPE after
installation.

Hi Jukka

Yes, if you added all the components,
the application and installer are using.

You need i.e. all the Windows Installer components.
Try to search "install" in the software components.
