Adding new data within Pivot Table

Is it possible to add or change information within a Pivot table and have it
stay with that record? Right now it appears to be replacing all the data in
the column when I enter the new information for the cell within the pivot
grid.

Simply because it's an easier format for the end user to add/change data.
They've applied their query criteria to select their own clients and want to
update one or two fields without having to find the data in the thousands of
rows in the raw table (data source) --which actually is external to the
spreadsheet anyway.

Yes, that would work, but wouldn't it prevent any further "pivoting"
(querying) by the end user?

Actually no, I mistyped, you could just copy and paste the Pivot Table
to a new range to get a "static" table. Then you could use the
original for querying and the copy can be edited as you please.

OK. I guess that means "No, you can not enter information into a LIVE Pivot
table", but by copying it to a new sheet, you can work with the static
version.

Thanks for the help.
