I am currently using a KX7-333R mobo and I have 3 sticks of PC2700 512MB
memory. I have followed the direction for loading the memory into the DIMM
slots (ABIT goes 4 to 1) and everything seemed to work great. then I
started getting a blue screen doing a memory stack dump. I then removed one
stick of memory and the system just kept rebooting (never getting to the
windows XP start up screen). I now only have one stick in my system and
everything works, but now I have 2 sticks just sitting around. I would like
to use that memory. I am not sure if this is a problem with my mobo or
windows XP. Has anyone encountered any of these issues before and
if so what did you do to solve it. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Eric Robinson

Hi Eric,

Does each stick work individually?

If so, then they are incompatible with each other. If one does not work
separately, then it is either faulty or incompatible with your motherboard.

What do you mean 4 to 1. Is that the order of the banks that you put memory
in? According to my abit manual the memory is installed in slot 1 thru 4.
I have put three 512Mb modules in slots 1, 2 & 3 and it works for a while
but it will eventually lock up.

The KX7-333 isn't designed to take three dimms at 166 fsb. It will at 133
fsb though..
