I have a T1140 emachine with a LM810E motherboard. The OS is XP Home ED. with
Service Pack 2. When I add memory it causes the system to hang. According
to MS Online Analysis "These types of errors indicate the operating system
has determined that the graphics driver was taking too long for an operation
to complete and that the driver appears to have stopped responding. To the
operating system, it appears as though the graphics driver may be stuck in an
infinite loop. This sort of error only occurs in Microsoft Windows XP." I
have downloaded the final graphics driver for my chipset and I still have the
same problem. Tech support at emachines has basically just shrugged their
shoulders. My thought is that there may be some sort of "fix" for the OS
that would tell it that everything is ok, I just have a slow machine. I
appreciate any help.
