I recently added a hard drive to my system (P-III, 450MHz,
372K RAM). How do I move programs from their original,
crowded drive (c:) to the new drive (d:) and ensure they
will function properly?

remove the programs and then add them back on but make sure you load them on
to your d:\ drive or whatever its labeled.

"So I have to uninstall and reinstall every program I want to do this with?
- Yepp, it's a bitch isn't it? :-

The thing about that is that they refeer to files in both the system and the application folder with exact paths i.e c:\program files\EASPORTS\... So if you move the folder, the path will be corrup and then the application wont work

So, the easiest way to have a stable system is to uninstal and reinstall on the new volume. The positive side doing this is that you often tend to clean out unwanted files and update the application in general.

Thanks.
What if my kid deleted (rather than uninstalled) a program
file? Obviously there is the same issue you mention...but
how do I otherwise correct what's left. For example, with
a game program that was deleted via Windows Explorer,
the "Remove Programs" utility still shows the program,
even though it's not functional. I'm concerned about what
it's doing to the function of my other files and the drive
overall.
