Hi. I'm running XP Pro w/ SP2 and Office 2003 with latest patches. I
recently tried to add a new email account (I have one set up from my dsl
provider that I set up two years ago--it works fine). I entered the normal
info and ran the test. I got back all green check marks, but did not receive
the test email in my in box. I went out to the web and checked my mail via a
web mailbox. The test email was sitting there. So, I know that I can send
emails out with the new account, but I cannot receive email to the new
account in Outlook. Since the test works fine, I'm not sure what to do.
BTW, I tried setting up the same account info in Outlook Express and it works
fine there!

Any ideas?

TIA

John

What error do you get when you do a manual Send/Receive?
Are the 2 accounts using the same POP3 server? If so configure your
send/receive groups to collect mail from the individual accounts at a
different interval as you cannot logon to same POP3 server with different
credentials.

Roady,

Thanks for responding. I don't get any error when I do a manual
Send/Receive. Everything "appears" to be fine. I can send out using the
new account--that works fine. It's just that no mail is ever received to
the new account, which has a different POP3 address and a different SMTP
address than the original (from my dsl provider) account. As I mentioned,
mail addressed to the new account shows up in my web mail box, so I know
that the address is valid. It just gets stuck there, and never arrives in
the Outlook box.

Any other ideas?

Thanks.

John

Try a clean profile with only that account and see if it works then.
