Adding document folders to the shorcuts or Navigation pane

In previuos versions of Office Outlook I could add
document folders to the shortcut panel and drag messages
into the appropriate document folder. I can't do this
anymore with Outlook 2003. Does someone have a workaround?
 
When you drag and drop to an Outlook folder you can create a Favorite Folder
for this and drag and drop it to there.

When you drag and drop to an Explorer folder you can create a shortcut to
that folder, click on it and drag and drop the item in the just opened
Explorer window
