My computer (matt) runs WinXP Home ED., and is networked to a small office
computer (front-office) that runs win2000 pro. I am trying to print
documents from my computer through (front-office) on LPT1, but not having any
success. The computers are connected through a linksys router. I can see
and print the files on (matt) from (front-office), but not vice-versa. Any
help is greatly appreciated.

Matt,

If you can see one computer from the other, but not vice-versa, you probably
have a browser problem.

First, check for misconfigured / overlooked firewalls, and for registry setting
restrictanonymous.
Misconfigured / overlooked firewalls:

Registry setting restrictanonymous:

If no help, provide "browstat status" and "ipconfig /all" from each computer,
and we can diagnose the problem. Read this article, and linked articles, and
follow instructions precisely:

Use Chuck's suggestions to get file sharing working in both directions
before tackling printer sharing; file sharing is simpler and printer
sharing won't work unless file sharing also works.

Then, on (front-office), share the printer; and then, on (matt), add
that shared printer. For most printers, that's all you'll need; with some,
you may need to download a printer driver from the printer vendor.

There is no guarantee of success, since printer sharing depends on code
from the printer vendors (as well as some from M$). I don't know of any
such problems between W2K and XP, but there are some between W9x and XP.
