Add scheduled task not responding

Windows XP Service Pack 1. From control panel I choose
Schedule Tasks. I then choose 'Add scheduled task' which
brings up the Schedule Task Wizard, when I click Next my
task manager show Windows Explorer.exe using all the CPU
and we never get to the next step. Then the task manager
lists the Schedule Task Wizard as not responding. We end
the Schedule Task Wizard using the end task button. Any
ideas?
