How do I remove items from the Add/Remove menu. Actually...I would rather
just *hide* the items and be able to get them back later in case I would
need them. (For example -- there are a ton of things added by Windows
Update that just clutter it up -- I'd like to clean that out.)

Thanks

You can use Tweakui to remove items from Add/Remove, but I think if you
do that it's final. You can't put them back.

I don't think that works anymore with XP (and the XP version of
TweakUIXP doesn't even offer it).
thanks for the correction!

Not in XP you can't!

Best bet is to use regedit.exe
The Uninstall items are each a subkey of
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall

Highlight that, take File - Export (then reimporting will put things all
back) and delete subkeys selectively

Backup the compressed $NTUnInstallQ...$ folders in C:\Windows to CD
and backup the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Current
Version\Uninstall key. Then delete the $NT... folders and double click
the entries in Add/Remove to remove them!
