add/remove programs

I am trying to remove an item from the add/remove programs list and when I
highlight the item no change/remove option is given to me. Any help would be
appreciated.
 
Thanks for the prompt reply, but I have removed the registry key in the hopes
of removing the item from add/remove programs and now I still have the
program listed, but not the change/remove button

Look in Start | All Programs for the program listing. Is there an entry
to uninstall the program? If so choose that. Another option is
reinstall the program then see if it can be uninstalled. A few simple
programs don't really require installation, just the copying of their
program file to the drive, so those don't need an uninstall capability
in Add/Remove Programs. In that case just delete the executable. Best
bet before doing this is to contact the tech support for that program
for info on how to uninstall it.
