hello~
i have a sony vaio laptop that came with XP home as an OS.
i didn't like the XP home, so i put 2000pro on it. now the
add/remove programs function does not work... and my
girlfriend accidentally downloaded the "my search" spyware
toolbar... and i cannot get rid of it because my
add/remove programs function does not work... my spyware
remover will not "uninstall" this lousy toolbar...
any suggestions appreciated,
thanks in advance,
~ryanS

ok~
i get: An unexpected error occured.
Class not registered

res://appwiz.cpl/listbox.htc
Line: 225

hope this helps, and thanks for your reply...

Hi

From the "Run" box try

regsvr32 %windir%\system32\appwiz.cpl

and
regsvr32 %windir%\system32\webvw.dll

and
regsvr32 %windir%\system32\mshtml.dll

If that doesn't help:

The article above also tells you how to repair Internet Explorer 6.0

In the German newsgroup, one person fixed the same type of error by
reinstalling IE

See tip 6032 at http://www.jsiinc.com/reghack.htm as well

If this doesn't help, try to reinstall the OS service pack you already have
installed (or install a newer one if possible).

If the problem persists, you'll could do an in-place upgrade of the OS and see
if it helps:

also~
i forgot to mention... when i open the add/remove program
screen... it says: "there are no programs currently
installed on this computer"... and the "installed
programns" are listed far below... but the add/remove is
buttons do not function...
hope this helps too,
~ry
