Add/Remove program fails to populate

When I run Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs, the program list fails to
populate beyond the "A" programs. It does not list anything beyond this. If
I select list by last use, I get a few more but still not the whole list.
Nothing in KB on this. FUBR? Reinstall required?

I thought this was happening with my computer also, until I noticed that I
just had a mile(figuratively speaking :-)) of white space separating the "A"
programs at the beginning of the list from all other programs way, way down
at the bottom of the list.

If this is the case with you, search for post "Add Remove Programs white
space removal?" from me, "what-a-tool".
A couple of the locals solved this for me. :-)

Either the Add/Remove Programs applet (appwiz.cpl) is damaged, or the
registry entries for Add/Remove Programs
(HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall) are
damaged, or you are not using the scroll bar

Autocad strikes again!

You have not scrolled down far enough, You have a big white space.
I'll be ten bucks that you have AutoCad installed.

I have AutoCAD LT 2000i. The white space in Add or Remove Programs usually
shows up after the AutoCAD LT 2000i listing. If you want to tweak the
registry...

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\
{5783F2D7-0065-0409-0000-0060B0CE6BBA}
Value Name: DisplayIcon
Value Type: REG_SZ
Value Data: C:\Program Files\AutoCAD LT 2000i\aclt.exe,-1

Notice the aclt.exe,-1?? You can change it to read aclt.exe,1

Or you can run one of the fixes. I have both autocadaddremovefix.zip &
autodesk-landdesktop3-addremovefix.zip. They both include icons.
autocadaddremovefix.vbs is the one that works for me. It's easier to use
the fix than changing the -1.

I get the white space in Add or Remove Programs every time that I add or
remove a program. It isn't always AutoCAD LT that has the white space after
it, sometimes it's another program. At any rate, one of the fixes will
work. Until the next time. ;-)

autocadaddremovefix.vbs adds an autocad.ico icon to the %systemroot%\web
folder. It also adds this to the registry >>
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\

From snowman...
AutoCAD 2002 is
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\

You were exactly correct on both issues. AutoCAD and the display icon at -1.
Removed and fixed. Thanks for the insight.

Not insight so much as knowing a little about where the band-aid needs to
