after installing XP service pack 2 a big gap has appeared in the 'ADD OR
REMOVE PROGRAMS' window. All of my installed programs are there and the gap
appears to have something hidden in it. It does'nt seem to cause any problems
just seems a bit odd. Any comments greatfully recieved.

Hi carey. I found out it was nothing to do with service pack 2 and when I
tried to download the patch from 'kellys korner' norton was not to pleased so
I did'nt bother. The problem proved to be 'autocad 2002' that I loaded. It
created registery entry under the path
HKEY-local-machine-software-microsoft-windows-current version-uninstall-
{5783F2D7-0101-0409-0000-0060B0CE6BBA}. There was a negative value of -1
after Display icon. I changed the value to just 1 and the white space
disappeared. Thanks for help anyway.

Exactly what the script does. As for the Norton warning, as the top of my
page clearly reads:

NOTE: If your anti-virus software warns you of a "malicious" script, this
is normal if you have "Script Safe" or similar technology enabled. These
scripts are not malicious, but they do make changes to the System Registry.
