Add or Remove Programs

Hi each time i try to load add remove programs it takes an age to load, have
no problems with any other program in control panel.
any advise or help please.

How long is an age? It normally takes up to a minute to populate on my
systems, depending on the amount of software installed.

3-4 minute delay is too much IMO. The system is probably looking for a network resource to carry out an operation (fetch an icon resource, for example) and that may be causing the delay. You may investigate this using Process Monitor.

The next time you are in A/R at the top of the screen uncheck 'showupdates'
.. Can speed things up as much as 50% .
