Add or Remove programs

My Windows XP SP2 has 3 problems:

1. Huge blank gap in Add or Remove programs list
2. Cannot access Help and Support
3. Cannot access System Information

Any suggestions greatly appreciated

OK. We may be down to the difficult part.
If you are familiar with Regedit, then export the key below to a
Registration file and send it to me.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall

Let me know if you are not familiar and I can give more detailed
instructions.

Try this freeware app was written for Windows 98 but will likely work with
XP
http://www.christensen-software.com/freeware/RemoveWhitespaceFromAddRemovePrograms.exe

The gap is likely caused by a badly formatted "DisplayedIcon" entry in the
uninstall area of the registry or a bad icon file.

Thanks, Alan. I tried to send the file but advised it was too large ...

How large? My export of that key is 175 KB and others have sent
similar size exports, though some have to zip the .reg file to allow
it to be sent.
