Thanks, but unfortunately it is not listed by name. I suspect it is one of a
series of long codes in {} format. I will need the enigma codebreakers to
work thisout!

Windows Installer Cleanup utility may be needed in this case. See section "Still unable to remove an entry?" in the above link.

Tried it! No luck, not listed. The program is IntervideoWinDVD v.4SE, which
was pre-installed by Evesham. I suppose they may still have the outdated
installation file, in which case re-installation might help prior to an
uninstall. Thanks for the remarkably quick help Ramesh, much appreciated.

Neville,

Reinstalling and then uninstalling is generally a good idea. Alternately, you can try this:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall]

Under the above key, click each {GUID} entry and verify the "DisplayName" shown in the right-pane. Once you locate the correct item, backup and delete the key.

Example:

PC Inspector File Recovery has this GUID

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\{0DD140D3-9563-481E-AA75-BA457CBDAEF2}]

"DisplayName"="PC Inspector File Recovery"
